Never have there been plastic ski jumps this far north.

Yesterday, 14.10.2019, the fantastic people in my club back home in Tromsø, layed down the last and finishing plastic mats in the outrun to the K6 and K15!

These where actually the hills I first started my carreer in, and I’m so happy to see that they get a well deserved facelift, and that the kids of Tromsø from next year of can jump all year around.

It feels so good to see our sport get this type of upgrades in Tromsø these days. Now we are ready for some bigger hills, so that I can bring the whole #skijumpingfamily to Tromsø, right?😏

An early beginning

Much work had been done up until this point. But this shows an early stage of getting the world's northernmost plastic hills ready.

Reuse of plastic mats...

They had to clean the plastic, because this plastic has actually done it’s job in an other hill for many years.

The mats actually comes from «Mobakken» in Bardu, south in the district of Troms. It was a k70 that I had the privilege to have as my training hill during the summers for some years before it was taken down because of it not being used and getting the love it needed to stay usable.

But now the plastic will continue to bring joy to ski jumpers in Troms futher down the line.

Time consuming work

Trond Varsi Breivik and Magnar Osnes are some of the hardest working guys in this whole project. They deserve a medal.

Done. Many hours of work. They are some true heroes, these guys and girls.

Now the hills are ready for snow. And then there will be new tracks next spring. And you can bet, I will come home to test our first summer ski jump.
